Welcome to Deep River Dachshunds! We are Jamie and Audrey Jolly and we live right on the Deep River in central North Carolina with our two children. Our home is lovingly shared with a small group of six Miniature Dachshunds. We are active in AKC regulated Earthdog trials, and really strive to keep the original hunting instinct alive in this lovable small hound dog. The Dach-shund, (NOT Dash-hound) was originally created in Germany to hunt badgers and small quarry. Their short legs, and muscular bodies work well for "Go to Ground" type work. Over the years, this very loveable breed has become more of a family pet, a companion animal. They require very little grooming, and because of their small size they are well suited for apartment living. While at the same time, they are happy to spend their days on farms, hunting vermin and digging holes. The Dachshund overall is a versatile breed, and can adapt to so many types of living arrangements and family situations.
While searching for a small breed , you will find Dachshunds are friendly dogs who are always eager to meet strangers. They have proven wonderful with children while at the same time proving he's still capable of being a guardian for his family and home. A large dog in a small dogs body, he is sometimes called a hot dog or wiener dog. But whatever he is called, he has the heart of a giant and the true loyalty of man's best friend.
We operate a small breeding program, producing several litters a year. Every litter is carefully planned in advance with conformation, temperament and health the #1 priorities. Our puppies come with a 1 year health guarantee, a puppy pack, and their AKC papers. PLUS, a lifetime of support from us should you ever need it. So come on in, and please let us know if we can help you find your new Doxie!
Thanks for Visiting, Jamie and Audrey Jolly
